This is the latest report, but it's over two hours old.

The National Weather Service didn't answer just now. Try the latest observations.

Always wanted to fly? We'll teach you.

Our Instructors give free introductory flights on a club trainer, with a buddy box so they can take over at any moment. You don't need experience or equipment. Learn to Fly Sessions are on Thursdays from 5:00 pm until sunset, while daylight saving time is observed (mid-March to early November).

Learn to fly

Already a pilot? Come fly with us!

If you're a member of the AMA, you're welcome at the Field. Bring your AMA card, pick up a City Permit, and say hi to whoever's flying. We love meeting new pilots.

Get your City Permit

The Field is in an Oklahoma City park, so the City asks every pilot who flies there to carry a Hefner Model Aircraft permit. The fee goes to the City as part of the club's lease, and the City helps look after the Field.

Permits are sold online only:

  1. Open the City's permit website.
  2. Scroll to the bottom, tick "I have read and accepted the above terms", and choose Continue Application.
  3. Pick the Hefner Model Aircraft permit for your age.

Finding the Field

We're on the south shore of Lake Hefner in northwest Oklahoma City, off S. Lake Hefner Dr. The Field is midway between Meridian and Portland avenues, a quarter mile east of the fire station, with parking right beside it.
